Product Description
Zylomox 500 mg contains Amoxicillin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the penicillin group. It is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, ear infections, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, dental infections, and typhoid fever.

Dosage and Administration

Recommended Adult Dose:

• The usual dose is 500 mg every 8 hours (3 times a day), or as prescribed by your doctor.
• For more severe infections, your doctor may increase the dose to 875 mg twice daily.

How to Take:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.
• It can be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may help reduce stomach upset.
• Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if you feel better after a few days. Stopping early may allow the bacteria to return or cause antibiotic resistance.

Duration: Usually 5 to 14 days, depending on the type and severity of the infection.

Important Information

Do NOT take Zylomox 500 mg if you:

• Are allergic to Amoxicillin, Penicillin, or any cephalosporin antibiotics
• Have ever had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to penicillin-type antibiotics

Warnings and Precautions

• Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, asthma, hay fever, or a history of allergic reactions.
• If you are taking birth control pills, Zylomox may reduce their effectiveness. Use additional contraception during treatment.
• Prolonged use may lead to fungal infections (such as oral thrush or vaginal yeast infection).
• Severe diarrhea during or after treatment may indicate a serious condition (Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea). Contact your doctor immediately if this occurs.

Common Side Effects

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
• Stomach pain
• Skin rash
• Headache

Serious Side Effects (Seek medical help immediately):

• Severe allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue, difficulty breathing)
• Severe or bloody diarrhea
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Unusual bruising or bleeding

Storage

• Store below 25°C (77°F)
• Keep in the original blister pack
• Protect from moisture and heat
• Keep out of reach of children

Important Note
Zylomox 500 mg is an antibiotic and works only against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold, flu, or sore throat.
