Important Information Before You Start
Accufine 20 mg contains Isotretinoin, a powerful medicine used to treat severe acne.
This medicine can cause serious birth defects if taken during pregnancy.
Women must not take this medicine if they are pregnant or may become pregnant.
What Accufine 20 mg is used for
Accufine is prescribed for the treatment of:
- Severe nodular acne
- Cystic acne
- Acne that has not responded to antibiotics or other treatments
How to Take Accufine 20 mg
- Take exactly as prescribed by your dermatologist.
- Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.
- Take with food or with a meal containing fat. This helps your body absorb the medicine better.
- Do not chew or crush the capsule.
Usual Dose:
- The usual dose is 0.5 mg to 1 mg per kg of body weight per day.
- Most adults take 20 mg once daily or 20 mg twice daily (40 mg/day).
- Treatment usually lasts 4 to 6 months.
- Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response and side effects.
Possible Side Effects
Very Common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people):
- Dry lips, dry skin, dry eyes, and dry nose
- Chapped lips, nosebleeds
