Product Description
Modvigil 200 mg is a high-quality generic version of Provigil containing Modafinil 200 mg. It is a wakefulness-promoting agent (eugeroic) used to treat excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and shift work sleep disorder (SWSD). It works by affecting certain chemicals in the brain that control wakefulness.
Dosage and Administration
Recommended Dose:
- The standard dose is one 200 mg tablet per day.
- Do not exceed 400 mg per day.
- Take the tablet with a full glass of water.
- It can be taken with or without food.
Important Timing:
- Take Modvigil in the morning for narcolepsy and sleep apnea.
- For shift work: Take it approximately 1 hour before your work shift starts.
- Avoid taking it in the afternoon or evening as it may cause insomnia.
Important Information
Do NOT take Modvigil if you:
- Are allergic to modafinil or armodafinil
- Have a history of certain heart problems (e.g. left ventricular hypertrophy, mitral valve prolapse)
- Have uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- Are breastfeeding
Warnings and Precautions
- Inform your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, mental illness (depression, anxiety, psychosis), or a history of drug addiction.
- Modafinil can make hormonal birth control pills less effective. Use additional barrier contraception during treatment and for at least 2 months after stopping.
- This medicine may cause dizziness, blurred vision, or anxiety. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Stop taking and seek immediate medical help if you develop a severe rash, fever, swelling, or signs of an allergic reaction.
